How these numbers are calculated

Current monthly break-room cost = headcount × snack runs/day × avg cost/run × days/week × 4.33 weeks + (labor hours × $20/hr est.)

  • Snack runs per employee/day: industry average is 1.0–1.5 for office environments. We default to 1.2.
  • Average off-site spend: convenience stores and coffee shops in the Bay Area average $2–$3 for a snack + drink. We default to $2.25.
  • Labor rate: we estimate $20/hr for internal stocking labor (admin/facilities time) if applicable. Set to 0 if you don't stock internally.
